Founded in 1939 by Albert L. Evans, Sr. the Company started with two trucks handling LTL freight in the local Pottsville area. The company continued to grow in the regional LTL market & gradually expanded operations to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York & Maryland. In 1973, the Company established Intermodal services to serve Steamship lines in the port of Philadelphia. Today, our Intermodal drayage offering has expanded to serve the majority of all major ports and rails in the country east of the Rocky Mountains. In 1989, the Company sold its LTL operations and continued expansion in the Intermodal and Truckload markets.
Today, the Company has more than 600 terminal locations throughout the United States, with a fleet of over 7,000 trucks, providing transportation services in the port drayage/intermodal, flatbed, van truckload and freight brokerage markets.
